Nile Legacy Foundation is a community-rooted, youth-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering South Sudanese children, youth and families across Toronto and the GTA.
Through sports, education, cultural enrichment and leadership development, we create pathways of opportunity that strengthen identity, build confidence and inspire a generation to rise.
Our work is grounded in unity, cultural pride and the belief that every young person deserves access to support, mentorship and safe spaces where they can thrive.
By bringing families, community leaders and young people together, we are building a legacy that honours our heritage while shaping a brighter future.

To empower South Sudanese children, youth and families across the GTA through sports, education, cultural pride and community development; creating pathways to success, strengthening identity and building opportunities that inspire growth, resilience and lifelong achievement.

Founder's Message
Founder's Message
I was born in Sudan, in a region devastated by conflict, war and many challenges that forced my family to flee and seek refuge in Canada.
As someone who has navigated the intersection of culture, leadership and life in the diaspora, I understand the challenges many immigrant youth face in trying to balance where they came from with where they are going while struggling to assimilate and integrate into a new society.
Too often, our youth grow disconnected from their roots, unsure of their place and lacking the support systems needed to thrive, landing them in unfortunate circumstances. This is where Nile Legacy Foundation steps in.
My vision is to create spaces where young people feel seen, valued and equipped; spaces where mentorship, education, sports, leadership and culture come together to build strong foundations for life. We are not only nurturing success; we are restoring identity, instilling confidence and cultivating leaders who will uplift their communities with integrity and purpose.
Nile Legacy Foundation, "NLF" is more than an organization, it is a movement to honour our legacy and invest in our future.
Through intentional programs and collective support, we are shaping empowered generations who carry their heritage with pride while boldly stepping into their potential in Canada and beyond.

Who We Are
We are a collective of leaders, mentors, educators and coaches committed to uplifting South Sudanese youth. Guided by lived experience and a deep understanding of the challenges our community faces, we provide programs that open doors, nurture talent, and champion personal growth.
The Nile Legacy Foundation is more than an organization, it is a movement of hope, resilience, and empowerment, created by our community, for our community.
Nile Legacy Foundation exists to empower present and future generations of youth through mentorship, education, sports and community leadership while honoring the rich cultural and traditional heritage of the Nile region of South Sudan.
